October 06 Mid Autumn, My Very Short CelebrationWhile, once again, i found myself in a situation where i traveled continously from one place to another, enjoying the business in the midst of it, ending the whole thing with a tired tired body.
Its Mid Autumn's Fest, and its also my dad's birthday, and its also the inter-varsity pharm quiz in ktn, and its also my good friend ATC's birthday... It all started from saturday, a day where most ppl choose to sleep than to study, while i choose to run around besides the two obvious choice. That day, was coincidently, the day for Mid Autumns, and also a Quic for pharm uni student in kuantan. So, i travelled back in my Sis car, high speed, where i tried to read my notes along the way. By evening, i manage to once again reach home, have a quick shower, and went out for dinner.
We had dinner we our family friends at the swan, and the food for the evening was nice with the whiskey n wine selections. The old folks - my parent's friends were trully a lively bunch n always a welcomed at the dinner table. Soon after, we head home... and i head out once more to greet my pharm seniors who are attending the event in UIAM ktn. I meet them at ard 11pm, where they took some time off to enjoy Mid Autumn's the Kuantan way, at Telok Chempedak. We basically just did the routine go to the beach, u see ppl, ppl see u, n went home with sands in the foot, hahaha! but still it was really fun to have them over, and the funny part was, thats my 1st time speding mid autumn's at TC. We went back to our places after that.
The next day, i took one of the fastest rides back to KL from KTN in my life, in my sis wheels. Amazaingly, i arrived at IMU after 2.5 hrs... meaning my sis took 2 hrs to clear the highway... i rmb seeing 150-160 along the way in her Honda. NUTS. Then, after reaching, i had a simple lunch, n once again, tried studying.... Monday nite, was IMU's moon cake festival celeb. It was a fun nite, but the participatient aint that happening because every course is having their exams around. Still, i participated half of the events... hahaa, n skipped the rest. Surpringsily, i manage to won a prize at the puzzle quizes... yeah!.
Thats how i spend mid autumn over the past few days... moon cakes were also a must, n i bought really quite alot due to the sales. Oct 2 was also my friends Ang Tse Chwan's bday, where i phoned over to send my greetings. Its actually abit strange to find anything much to talk between us now, since it was soo long since we've done any so-chai stuff together. Reminiscing the past may be a good idea... but, i think we both know that, and still quite comfortable with just talking non-sense over the phone. After all, its Mid Autumn... we dont build our relationships over issues events or materials. Its purely the goodwill n greetings that counts...
Happy Mid Autumn. :)
September 27 Sun - The final march to sem reopens!!!YAYA... hols rocks, no matter i studied much or not... SO FAR, many had happend during the past weekend. Here it goes...
During friday, it was one hell of a day, where i ran ard from one place to another... In the afternoon, i found myself in KLIA, biding farewell to my choir mates from taylors college... It was not a sad day (at least for me...), but it was rather quite a happy day, seeing back old faces, and happy to see that everyone is doing well and achieving the targets that we had set earlier during the beginning of the choir...
I arrived with scott at KLIA ard 4pm, where we meet up with Iee Lee n Danny, much earlier than all our VIP frens. It was quite a long time since the last time we all had met, and its great to know that Iee Lee and Scott is continuing their studies at Taylors... Chong Ai will be doing her degree in LSE, which is famous for all those Acc Econ Stuff... Zee Hao will continue his Law with... erm, not sure, Reddings i suppose.
After our short reunion... we all agreed to meet up back in KLIA to fly to England all together in the near future... i better work hard then!! hahaha...
Then, i rushed back to sunway ard 7pm to meet up with my 2nd SIS to go to the Kechara House near kelana jaya... The kechara house, lead by H.E. Tsem Tsulku Rinpoche, is a surpringsily active and growing buddhist organization, based on the tibetan tradition. Approaching the audience in a comtemporary manner with videos, presentations, and interactions,... i must say, im am impressed by their work in the dhamma. Going to the kechara house was actually and eye opener, where i found an excellent model from where the IMU BS can trully learn for. Ive brought some books n videos back with me, n i hope that we can use in back in IMUBS... may the dhamma prevail long.
So , thats all i guess... i reached home ard 11pm, just in time to catch kwong win sending his GF back to um... without thinking, i hoped from my car to his, and accompanied them all the way to UM, where later me n kwong win head off to MURNI in SS2 to finish the day off... In the picture thats the honey dew special n ribenna special, hahahaa... cheers, and a good way to end one hell of a day.... September 25 Thurs - Behind ScheduleHEHEHEHEEE...
i wonder whats so funny that made me start the post with one annoying line of "HEHE"s.
Anyway, just a short "let you know" for what ever that has been going on these few days during the raya break...
HELL, ive been studying... but, not as much as i enjoyed Gintama, played the guitar, went out to explore new areas, and also sleeping... So, is that still studying??? well, in a sense.. ya, i did covered some ground, and perhaps much more if i did not do all the above non-sense... HAHA, still, its the holidays... and i think since me being me, my laid back attiude for now aint taking a 180 turn... and im still okay with it. ( I AM studying to make up for it though, 3am in the morning. ) Hopefully i catch up to my *top secret* schedule of studying, and make ends meet for the summative, thats due in weeks.
WELL, heres something fun to "cover" ; IVE DISCOVERED GOOD FOOD IN NEW PLACES!!.. HELL YA, ive manage to get around, with the company of the lovely couple, in the name to explore new food and new areas... So, i manage to figure out Kuchai Lama, and ABIT of OUG. Surprisingly, Kuchai Lama is full with good food of every genre, and its definitely a good gethaway from the food-stricken bukit jalil and the all-so-familiarities of Sri Petaling. We've manage to find a 民歌餐厅 that i set out to find earlier, Wings Music Cafe, and had a nice-full dinner that very evening. Well, its definitely fun to explore new areas with good company, and the funny thing was => i was thought to be a secondary school student!! hahahaa... The singer up stage mistaken me , thanks to my bad hair cut... 真是又气又好笑!!
SO, thats all for this.... Tomorrow ill be sending chong ai, roy, and zi kin off to england, and going for a talk at the Kechara Centre over at Kelana Jaya... Itll be more words and photos then!
September 20 2 mths... wthHAHA... its been 2 mths n 3 days since ive posted anything. One's bet , that either i was super busy... or i was just super lazy. ANYHOW, both of it makes up for the truth...
SO NOW, LETS COUNT THE BLESSINGS... sumthing that ive learned from the 2nd dhamma talk on stress. As a start, the purpose of counting one's blessing... particularly MINE, is so that we need to realise how much good life itself has... im sure it sucked "big time" in many hrs... but i think, that in these very hrs, we get to see the best in others.
1) Even though i din catch up alot in studies, i still can understand the lectures and discuss about it with friends. Thats a fat thing to say for a person that has never scored well in most of his exam in most of his life. HAHAHA... hopefully i study hard this hols to make up for it.
2) The talks went well with a good amount of ppl attending. Im grateful that it went well... and a penny goes into my piggy bank of confidence. haha. Hopefully i can analyze the actual reason behind the good attendence and apply it elsewhere.
3) The weekly gatherings went well most of the time. My last minute stunts so far went well and i get to know new people across the batches. May they all be well and may i be free from risky last minites stunts.
4) The chinese instruments class did not get any new members... but the old members are committed despite their busy schedule. May they have fun in their learning and may we get new members to our family.
5) Nowadays i find myself among nice people... my days are filled with fun and laughter.... which is absolutely great. Im grateful for my nice batchmates and dinner going friends. The buddhist society are also a lively bunch with the crazy seniors and fun colleagues. My DSG juniors are also performing well and giving their best in learning the dharma. My new hsemates are also made up of a nice bunch, and so far the hse is more messy now with more people. BUT, nothing beats a harmonious and peaceful living. May they all be well and happy and may the place be a little more cleaner.
6) My birthday went well with a surprise visits from some of my batch mates, and also a small cake from the girl gang.... It was my 1st late nite surprise, and it felt good. Im happy for having such good friends, even if sumtime they may seem cold. Ill do my best to be one too, and carry it on into an actual profession.
7) My flute made some progress over the mths... but still not fast enough for any actual celebration. My guitaring actually took a big turn when i realized how much basic i need in order to advance up, so i gave up playing "cool songs" and focus on the simple stuff, in detail... My vocal range went up to Dsharp, and ill continue to push... Lets not start on the piano... BUT, im grateful that im enjoying music more than any time n moment that i did in my life... its a good pleasure that matures the senses, and the mind. May my flute, guitar, and vocals improve... hahahaa...
SO MUCH MORE TO BE HAPPY ABOUT... but i think 7 is a good number to end it. ... Life is challenging.. and im not going to say that its worth it or that its a good challenge... Ill survive all of this, advance to the next level..., and then ill say its a hell of an experiance.
July 18 Over The Rainbow"somewhere over the rainbow... way up high.
bird flies over the rainbow...
why, cant ooo...
why cant i."
"Over the Rainbow", its a very nice song that im sure most of the english speaking group is familiar with. A sweet song that tells the tale of a young girl, who wish that she can go to that somewhere nice... somewhere over the rainbow.
(Black n white) The story starts with Dorothy, who has a preety normal life, preety much like you and me, but minus the malls , cell phones, university, yumchas and KL traffic jams. Her normal life, with its fairshare of trouble from the beginning of the story, throws our heroine in a desperate longing for a brighter tomorow... (song starts here).
Before you know it, she finds herself being sucked into a tornado, which takes her to colorful foreign land. (color kicks in) She accidently killed a wicked witch when she had an emergency landing, and found herself being wrapped up in a larger problem... paradise aint that fun!!!... Now, with a cool red slipper to walk around with, she now has to find her way home (where she dreaded in the beginning of the film), being chased by the sister of the dead witch, wanting that cool slipper on her fee.
She met the 3 other heroes in the film... the scarecrow with no brain... the tin man with no heart... and the lion with no courage. Together the weird bunch gang up so they can find the wizard of oz, the promised genius that can grant their wishes. Too bad, the other wicked witch caught up to them, n kidnapped dorothy. Instead of calling the police n authorities, the no brain no heart n the no courage decides to do the smartest thing that they can think off... rescue her. the 3 dota hero wannabees arrived at the castle, manage to "think" a "brave" plan... learn it by "heart" n put it into action. Like all films in hollywood of the time, they manage to save dorothy, and arrive at the wizard of oz...
At the end of the movie, the wizard of oz proved to be a hoax, and has no real magic with him. Still, with good charisma n a salesman's pitch, he convinced the 3 dota heros that they have what they have needed all along... and dorothy has a magic slippers that can bring her back to home, just by tapping 3 times both legs together n say... "theres no place like home"... she balik kampung in the end la!.. the end.
I wonder if such a story can exist in a modern realistic setting... Well, i too, am finding the 3 things that dorothy seek off... the mind, the heart... and the courage. The witches in life are far too wicked n less visible in real life... n i doubt i have 3 followers with me who are such retarded dota heros. Still, like dorothy, ill continue to make my journey down this road of re-discovery. Perhaps, like what the wizard had said... "its always n always have been, in you." I might not have the 3 idiots to count on... but i think i can find a lil bit of "brain"..."heart"... and "courage", some where in the poorly lit storeroom which is my mind. . .
So, till the day i get what i want... ill just keep singing the song. may i have the brain, heart, and courage, to finish the journey, over the rainbow. Thanks for visiting!
